Chesterfield skate park

Comments:
Site access via a riverside path
required a well-considered access
plan to ensure safe access for
vehicles. The site was also
comprised of a capping layer over
contaminated ground; Freestyle's
design took account of this to
ensure the build didn’t interfere
with the capping layer. |

Comments:
Built on the site of a former cattle
market work began with the discovery
and excavation of the previous
concrete structure. Site location
was across the Bass recreation
field, requiring installation of a
temporary heavy duty road to access
the site. We installed a large 4m
deep soakaway system to drain the
facility. |

Plymouth skatepark

Freestyle | Plymouth City Council
Build:
2011 |
16 weeks
| 700m2
Comments:
With site access via the Central
Park Leisure Centre a strict traffic
management plan was implemented. Our
package of works included
installation of a new MUGA and youth
shelter, plus access paths to the
skatepark. Project's location on a
high rock layer required an above
ground drainage system. |
